BREAKING: CAMBA Accused of Violating Federal and NYC Laws as Strike by UAW Local 2325 Continues

Workers call on CAMBA to end the strike and stop violating the law

(Brooklyn, NY) -- On Wednesday, UAW Local 2325, filed multiple serious charges with the National Labor Relations Board including illegal surveillance, retaliation for protected activity, bad faith bargaining, and unilateral changes to terms and conditions of employment.  After nearly six months on strike, and due to the severity of their alleged violations, the union has sought to have the National Labor Relations Board pursue a 10(j) injunction against CAMBA, granting temporary relief or a restraining order to rein in their lawless behavior.

UAW 2325 alleges that CAMBA has been accused of violating NYC’s Labor Peace ordinance, Local Law 87, prompting an investigation by the Office of the Comptroller.  UAW Local 2325 alleges that CAMBA failed to enter into a Labor Peace Agreement with the union per local law, and failed to submit the required attestation, obscuring the lack of a required labor peace agreement from City regulators.

“It is long past time for CAMBA to meet the union’s reasonable demands for a fair contract,” said Rafael Faura, Bargaining Committee Member and CAMBA IT worker on strike.  “The continual violations of the law must end, and if CAMBA will not end them, then their funders must act immediately to protect these critical city services.”

“CAMBA must come to a fair resolution to this dispute in line with the industry standard before the City and federal government are forced to step in and settle this dispute for them” said Lisa Ohta, President of UAW Local 2325.
