Resolution to Drop Jessica Tisch

WHEREAS, Zohran Mamdani has pledged to reappoint Jessica Tisch as NYPD Commissioner;

WHEREAS, Jessica Tisch has pledged to accept the appointment;

WHEREAS, Zohran Mamdani assumes the mayoralty January 1, 2026;

THEREFORE, be it resolved that ALAA:

  1. Shall publish the statement “Public Defenders to Zohran Mamdani: Drop Jessica Tisch” on its usual channels including its website and Instagram.

  2. Shall sign onto Within Our Lifetime’s statement “From New York to Palestine: Stand against Zohran Mamdani’s Reappointment of NYPD Commissioner Tisch”.

  3. Urges ALAA members on the NYC Area CAP and Mamdani's transition team to use their positions to organize for Zohran Mamdani to drop Jessica Tisch.
